Nolan Helmets are produced by Nolan Helmets SpA, an Italian helmet manufacturing company under the Nolan Group. Founded in 1972 by entrepreneur Lander Nocchi, the first Nolan helmet produced was a polycarbonate injection moulded motorcycle helmet that used the same material found in the helmets of astronauts from the Apollo mission.
Each Nolan helmet affirms the company’s commitment to produce motorcycle helmets with the highest quality and safety standards. Consistency and excellence is guaranteed by their highly integrated production process. All Nolan helmets are made by over 300 skilled workers in their factory in Italy. From the acquisition of their high quality raw materials to the final assembly of every Nolan helmet, every step of the manufacturing process happens within their factory.
Each Nolan helmet undergoes rigorous testing within their two internal laboratories, aside from studies done by independent, third party laboratories. This emphasis on analysis and testing ensures that every Nolan helmet meets and exceeds the latest national and international safety regulations, and that every rider wearing a Nolan helmet remains safe no matter what happens on the road or track.
Nolan Helmets also contributed remarkable innovations, including being the first to produce a full-face thermoplastic helmet in Europe, among other notable firsts.
