Introducting the Diavel V4. arriving April 2023.

The outgoing L-Twin has been Ducati's muscular cruiser. The Diavel V4 keeps this going, with a host of changes and updates.

Now featuring a V4 Granturismo engine with agility and dyamics for a thrilling ride and unmistakeable appearance.

The V4 motor is on display in this naked beast.  A steel fuel tank shaped like a supersport bike with bold air intakes showing off it's capable power and stance.

An LED running light with double C-shape will be instantly recognised to oncoming admirers, whilst the new cluster of LEDs under the tail will continue to prove identity and wow those who are gasping behind you.

The monocoque frame and single side swingarm, all aluminium, keep this big bike light, with a kerb of 223kg before fuel, which is 13kg less than the L-Twin it replaces, with 5kg weight saved in the motor and 8kg saved in the chassis.

Front dynamic sweeping indicators are now part of the brake and clutch controls for a cleaner appearance.  For when you don't have a passenger, the folding rear footrests tuck away neatly to keep the side rear view clean aswell.  Even the passenger handlebar retracts away.  A passenger seat cover is standard which is of course removeable.

The exhaust outlets command attention, with a return to right-side-only outlets with 4 pipes, for immediate understanding of the configuration.

The 1,158cc motor is the central element of the bike's design, retaining what Ducati is known for; performance, dynamics and pleasure whilst riding.  A twin-pulse firing order is unmistakeable.

Service visits and costs remain sensible with 15,000km or 2 year intervals or oils and a long 60,000km valve adjustment requirement. That's more riding and less dealer stops.  The rear cylinder bank deactivates for thermal comfort and further fuel efficiency when not required.

Suspension is fully adjustable with fat 50mm forks.  Travel is longer than the L-Twin for more comfort front to back.  Stopping power is strong with Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers with two 330mm floating discs on the front.  Rear is 265mm, also Brembo.

Five spoke wheels with machined surfaces keep from this area being anything but boring. Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres wrap the rims, with a standout 240/45 ZR17 on the rear, whilst a 120/70 ZR17 is fitted up front.

Not only is the weight reduced overall, but the seat remains sensibly low for a typical-cruiser riding style, at only 790mm from the ground.  There's plenty of lateral movement for the rider.  The handlebars are now 20mm closer to the rider, for improved comfort and control.

With mechanics and engineering at the top of the range, there's no question electronics make a strong part of any premium motorcycle.  The Diavel V4 delivers strongly in this area.

Four riding modes including Sport, Touring, Urban and new obvious Wet mode make this beast tamable for any skill of rider.  The switches are backlit, and all information is on display of the 5 inch TFT colour dashboard, which also includes bluetooth connectivity for calls, SMS and music management, and if optioned in the Ducati Turn-By-Turn Navigation accessory.

Corner with confidence with ABS Cornering EVO utilising the Bosch IMU platform activating and controlling in all critical situations including bike lean.  Multiple levels of interaction are possible.

Ducati Traction Control EVO 2 is ultra smart with a predictive control strategy for intervention, depending on the mode selected.

Ducati Wheelie Control EVO has 4 levels of adjustment allowing maximum control without having a blast.

For the ultra-bold, Ducati Power Launch EVO guarantees lightning-fast starts bringing out your Dragster soul, controlling the clutch and throttle to keep the bike in the best control, with 3 levels of adjustment depending on skills and bravery.

Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down EVO 2, developed for the Panigale V4 and adapted to the Diavel V4.  Perfect for downshifting even mid corner without thinking about clutching, and keeping the power at maximum delivery for when the throttle is twisted.

Cruise Control is standard, which in today's speed camera days is mandatory when the roads are for lazy cruising, whilst also giving your mind and wrist a break ready for when it all gets interesting again.

Power delivery is rated at 124kW, or 168hp in old money, at 10,750rpm with a power mode reduction to 84kW when the moment applies like the rain.  Torque is 126Nm at 7500rpm.  Combining these means a high-revving power delivery or hard pulling motor at lower revs.

A 20 litre fuel capacity makes for sensible touring, especially with optional genuine extras such as panniers to make this a versatile investment in to your riding satisfaction.  Euro5 emissions for the environmental aware owner and guaranteeing a long life meeting regulations.

Available in both Ducati Red or Thrilling Black for $41,100 and $41,500 respectively, due from April 2023 for those who pre-order now (subject to change).

We aim to have a demonstrator in the store at some stage mid-2023.
