Gilera established itself as an Italian motorcycle manufacturer back in 1909. However in 1969, the company was purchased by Piaggio, who to this day under the Gilera name produce small capacity motorcycles, although there is no new dealer in Australia.

However it is well supported, as the Vespa brand which is strong in Australia is where you land when searching Gilera.  As Piaggio own Vespa also, you have peace of mind that Gilera parts can be sourced.

Gilera are known today for their three-wheeled scooters, the Fuoco and two-wheeled Runner.  It can be argued that the Fuoco was the leader in introducing this style of riding, with strong front grip, something other brands are now exploring themselves with success.
