Tony, our director, is selling his own personal 2007 Honda Monkey 40th Anniversary.

A private sale from Tony's collection.  An opportunity for an enthusiast to own something very special or be bold and register it to ride on the streets.

HISTORY

The Honda Z50 Monkey was originally developed in the 1960's as a way to introduce motorcycling to kids in a Japanese Amusement Park the "Tama Tech" in Hirano City, Tokyo.  Made with a bulletproof motor from the successful 'Honda Cub', it was built over a whopping four decades.

Evolving over time, it earned refinement on the 4 speed auto clutch gearbox, adding swing arm suspension in the 1970's and having the ability to fold the handlebars down to allow the bike to fit in a Japanese sedan's boot space, it was really a versatile unit loved by enthusiasts. Production ceased in 1999.

COMEBACK

To celebrate the 40 years on the market, Honda Australia returned the model back to the market in a limited run, which quickly sold out. A tartan seat trim which was popular by the original model, a refined feeling 4.5 litre fuel tank, Monza Red finish on the frame and rims, and of course the important 40th Anniversary logo detailing.

Even a special coating was applied to the headlight casing, pipe cover, chain case and 3D fuel emblem keeping in line with typical Japanese luxurious feelings.

Powered by a 49cc air cooled 4 stroke OHC single cylinder motor. Featuring telescopic forks, carry rack, old school swing arm.

Correct to say there were models available without the ADR kit that couldn't be registered.

AUSTRALIAN COMPLIANCE

Yes, this one does include the Australian compliance kit, as pictured, which was a little dearer to buy and are much more sought after.  It has never been fitted, stored in the original plastic bag which disintegrated when pulling it out for the first time in 16 years to take photos - hence the new clear bag!

FOR SALE

Motorcycle R Us' director Tony Armstrong owns this personally, with it displayed behind Tony's Cafe along with other collectables owned by Tony and his son Anthony. Tony is personally selling this, not the dealership. It has not been ridden, only stored for showing off.
